The Shadow Self: Making Peace with the Parts of You That You Hide
We all have parts of ourselves that we’d rather not show: the jealousy, the anger, the neediness, the shame. In psychology, these hidden pieces are often called the “shadow self.” Internal Family Systems (IFS) teaches us that these shadow parts are not flaws — they’re protectors trying to keep us safe.
