Danielle Abrenica
Advanced Clinical Resident
As a Filipina woman, I understand the emotional complexities of navigating cultural identity, intergenerational trauma, and personal growth. These challenges are deeply felt, especially within BIPOC communities, where seeking mental health support often carries additional stigma and cultural barriers. My mission is to provide a healing space that validates your lived experiences and supports your path toward emotional wellness.
When life feels overwhelming due to the pressure of cultural expectations, unresolved trauma, or feeling disconnected from your authentic self, know that you're not alone. Therapy is a courageous step, and I commend your choice to prioritize your mental health.
I offer culturally affirming therapy grounded in empathy, respect, and deep listening. My trauma-informed approach integrates a range of evidence-based practices to support your healing, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Psychodynamic Therapy
Person-Centered Therapy
Mindfulness Techniques
Multicultural Competency
Whether you're working through perfectionism, anxiety, relationship issues, or life transitions, we will explore these challenges together with curiosity and compassion. My goal is to help you reconnect with your inner voice, reshape how you view yourself, and build a fulfilling life rooted in authenticity and cultural pride.
I am especially passionate about working with first-generation individuals, students, and BIPOC clients navigating mental health challenges in high-pressure environments. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities who are ready to embark on a therapeutic journey toward clarity, self-acceptance, and growth.
Currently, I’m pursuing a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University, and I practice under the clinical supervision of Odile McKenzie, LCSW.
Let’s work together to create the safe, empowering space you deserve to be wholly and unapologetically yourself.
