Sandra Remy

Licensed Master Social Worker

My name is Sandra Remy and I consider myself a professional helper. It is in my nature to

help others and what allows me to do this is my ability to empathize with others. For the

past fifteen years, I have been very humbled to serve countless children, adolescents,

adults, and families as a licensed social worker (LMSW).

You might be overwhelmed by the various stressors in your life. These stressors might be

related to your career/work life, relationships, body image/weight, parenting etc. Perhaps

you’re struggling with unresolved childhood experiences while balancing being a parent

yourself. Perhaps you're experiencing challenges with adjusting to a major life transition or

making the decision to make a major life transition. Perhaps you can’t quite figure out

what’s troubling you but, you know you don’t feel like yourself. Let me help you to unpack

these emotions or even identify your hidden emotions.

In some instances, I may have walked in your shoes and in others not; however,

I can relate to the various emotions we go through as humans when we experience

challenging, difficult, or painful situations. To even embrace these emotions and

then work through them, oftentimes we just need to be seen and heard. That is my

commitment to you; to hear you and to see you.

Through various counseling approaches including but not limited to: cognitive behavioral

therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and strengths-based therapy I can best

support you as you take steps towards achieving your goals and/or healing. I believe that

each person has their own unique needs and strengths. I will assess your individual needs

and explore which counseling approach will best suit your needs.

As we work together you will have an opportunity to get to know me better. However, here is

some background information about me to start: I obtained a B.A. in Psychology from Stony

Brook University and a M.S. in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work.

I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your journey towards wellness.
