Advanced Clinical Resident
I believe that an individual’s current concerns are affected by their past experiences. I understand that culture plays an important role in the way individuals define, perceive, experience, and treat their difficulties. I recognize that topics related to mental well being are stigmatized in society, but I firmly believe that therapy is not a luxury and should be available to anyone in need. I desire to create a safe and affirmative space for all by practicing empathy, non-judgment, and active listening.
I have experience working with adults (18+), suffering from depression, anxiety, work stress, and grief. I am inclined toward psycho-dynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and client-centered therapy. However, I like to be flexible and use a combination of theories to help my clients understand their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
I am a Master of Arts candidate in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University. I identify as a female (pronouns- she/her). My native language is Hindi, and I am professionally proficient in English. I am delighted to be a part of your journey towards self-exploration. Together we can work to improve the quality of your life.
